The New EBC

Enhanced Brand Content (EBC) just got a major facelift offering you even more tools to effectively build an Amazon product detail page. Do remember that your brand must be registered with Amazon to unlock the EBC features, but this is a huge step to helping sellers increase conversions convert better on your listings.  Previously, this was a part of the A+ program on Vendor Central, but is now being rolled out to third-party merchants on Seller Central that can benefit from the same new custom templates.

EBC now has 6 predefined modules you can choose from giving you a great edge over other sellers.  The new EBC modules look like this:

  1. Light Text Overlay
  2. Comparison Chart
  3. Single Image & Highlights
  4. Four Image Highlights
  5. Single Image & Specification Details
  6. Single Image & Sidebar

If your brand is registered – you need to ensure you take advantage of these now as many other sellers will be using this to their advantage.

But that’s not all!!!

In addition to the new layouts, Amazon has also confirmed that adding image keywords in EBC will also be indexed and boost your product to appear more in search. Who wouldn’t want to improve their organic search placement and traffic inside of Amazon?  Here’s a look at where you add those keywords during the EBC process:

The bottom line…Amazon continues rolling out new features to brands building a presence on their site. If you are not yet building your own private label brand on Amazon, you are missing the mark on a long-term strategy to stay on marketplaces like Amazon. There is no harm in other sourcing strategies, but private label is the future.
